The Company employs approximately 300 people across its operations in Europe, North America and Australasia.
Company Strategy
Protherics is a company focused on growth to provide products that benefit patients and deliver value for its shareholders. We believe that the critical care and cancer areas provide us with an opportunity to develop, and potentially market, products ourselves:
Critical Care - specialist products used in emergency rooms or intensive care units particularly for the treatment of medical emergencies. These include: CroFab™ and DigiFab™ which are sold in the US, ViperaTAb™ which is sold in Europe on a named patient basis, and our anti-sepsis product CytoFab™ which has started its phase 2 programme and is being conducted by our licensing partner AstraZeneca.
Cancer - specialist products used in the treatment or management of cancer patients, including Voraxaze™ where
where there is a rolling biologics license application ‘BLA’ due to commence in the second half of 2008, and our development programmes for Prolarix™, OncoGel™ and Acadra™.
Please visit our Products section for more information on each of these products and programmes.
Our strategy is to use the revenues from our marketed products and licensing income to help fund a high value development pipeline. We are actively developing a number of promising products which target attractive market opportunities, in areas where we can undertake the sales and marketing ourselves in conjunction with local partners. In addition, we are also actively seeking to strengthen our portfolio of development and marketed products through in-licensing, partnering and acquisition.
